Hi Ed,

It's always the best bet is be perfectly honest with her. It also helps if
your short term memory is shot than you can honestly say, "I don't
remember."

My forgetter is getting better. So better that I may be able to run for a
higher office in politics.

Shop. I said I'd never ordered from them before, but they came highly
recommended, and had a very complete catalog.

like the following ensued:
>
> (me) "Oh, great, you ordered me something for wood carving!"

> (me) "I never did."
> (she) "Did you ever meet the guy who runs it?"
> (me) "Nope."
> (she) "Well".....(a pause that read something like "I can't believe
anything you say any more!")...he certainly seems to know you!!!!"
> (me) "Why do you say that?"
> (she) "After I called and made my order, he didn't even ask for the credit
card number. When I asked if he wanted it, he said "OK, or I could send you
a bill". I said "you would do that"? He said "Oh yes, (my name) has
excellent credit with me". Pause........"
> (me) "Yeah, well, those midwesterners are pretty nice folks. And
woodcarvers are very trustworthy.".
> (she) "So how much stuff HAVE you ordered from there before?"

about everything in advance, or taking pains to keep them completely hidden
from her.
