wonderful.... congratulations on your commission.
the scales of justice and of course i concur with the list.... the chains need to be carved, to keep the spirit of the law and the meaning of the scales of justice, keep all the symbols as true as possible, everything done by you, the timber from your own mother earth, the labour from your own hands, the spirit of thought mind and soul unifying to bring justice and peace together. congratulations and hope you do not mind my two cents worth. thanks for sharing your exciting event.
cheers
maricha

I am so excited and starting to feel like a real artist. I am being commissioned to carve the scales of justice for a Law Office in Chicago. I will carve it here in NYC and have it shipped to chicago ahead of me. They are flying my son and I out to Chicago(actually staying in Munster, Ind., a suburb of chicago) for 4-5 days to do the installation and unveiling of the carving. It will be sometime in mid August. Imagine that. Doesn't that sound real impressive. Alright, alright I'm not exactly famous yet. The Lawyer I am doing it for is my uncle Tom. But still, I am very excited. I of couse, won't be able to charge him for the carving, though I know he will insist. I think a vacation in exchange for a carving is payment enough. Just had to share my good news. I will be asking some questions of the list I'm sure. In fact I already have one. I am debating carving the chains which hold the scales or incorporating real chains into the carving. Real chains would look nice but if they going to rust and discolour over time I would rather carve them. The carving will be light colored wood and will be attached to a very dark wooden area outside of the Law office. So I will only consider real chains if they would keep their shiny color. If anyone has any idea about how to do the chains I would appreciate it. thanks so much
