Absolute NOT to miss is the Salem Carousel. It's located at Salem's River
Front Park. It's all hand carved with and hand painted. All carving was
done with out power aide. All painting was done with brushes. Plane on
spending a bit time to examine as much of the detail as possible. I watched
it being carved and I still see something new every time I go look at. Be
sure to take a ride, everybody loves to ride a carousel. Yes it's full size
and working. Read some of the stories behind the horses. Each has it's own
story to tell. Construction techniques are displayed, and much more. If
really want to see carving at it's best, this is the place to go.
