Stephan,
I purchased the Razaire 530 unit from Big Dog about three years ago and couldn't be happier with it. It's very small and very quiet. Best of all, it sucks up all the dust. It's not cheap but neither are my lungs.

To the list:
I am finding myself doing a bit of work at home, and my wife is not overly happy with the chips and dust that I am generating of an evening. Has anybody on the list come up with a shop built dust collection system for setup on a small table? Alternatively, has anyone discovered a system on the retail market that works efficiently? Anything I get should be as quiet as possible, as I am generally parked in a trafficked area of the house, within earshot of the TV.
Thanks muchly,
Stephan
