Thank you, Merrilee,

You are not seeing things.  The lampshade is made using a "cut and pierced 
technique".  First the design is sketched onto the lampshade paper, then 
each line is cut with an x-acto knife.  Tjme consuming, but I thought it 
would be a good addition to the lamps!
