Hi all,
I apparently made a mistake in my message, but Ben ??? was kind enough to correct me and asked me to pass it on in case anyone else does the same........... Ben must be a teacher or something?????

Your work is great but you make the same mistake as many other 
carvers do.   The thing that holds your piece of wood in place
while you are carving is a VISE, not a vice.

A vice is defined as: 1 a) an evil action or habit  b) evil conduct
                                     2 a trivial fault or failing 

Wood carving does not fall into any of the above catagories. 
Therefore, it should not be connected to a vice.

Feel free to pass this on when you notice the error, it is very common.
