I truely disagree!
carving   is definitely a habit   So  it just might be a vice...  some of our spouces might think it is evil at times.
Sometimes when the chips are left behind my wife might.

  A vice is defined as: 1 a) an evil action or habit  b) evil conduct
                                       2 a trivial fault or failing 

  Wood carving does not fall into any of the above catagories. 
  Therefore, it should not be connected to a vice.

  Feel free to pass this on when you notice the error, it is very common.
