The burrs depend on the type of wood and size of carvings. For fast
removal the larger solid carbide work well. As you move down in detail some
the smaller stones or diamond bits work well. It's mostly a matter of
preference. The solid carbide have an advantage, they can be cleaned with a
torch. Most bits will load up, the amount depends on the wood you're using.
I have a couple High Speed Steel bits, but I have had a tendency to burn
them a bit. I use Foredom Typhoon burrs for fast removal. Then have a
collection of diamond and a set of Foredom ceramcut stones. You can see
them at http://www.mountainwoodcarvers.com/bits.htm
Hope this helps a bit, (pun not intended)
