Suprise! Suprise! Suprise!
as Gomer Pyle used to say!  You remember him, don't you???  Oh never 
mind!
  The surprise I am talking about is for the Ol' Granddaddy of Caricature
Carving, Harold Enlow.  He is teaching three classes here at The 
Woodcraft
Shop in December.  Except for a few local classes, these may be the very
last of his whirlwind teaching that he has done for many, many years.  
Word
is, he plans on retiring after the end of this year.  Just exactly what 
he
is planning to do, no one can seem to pin down.  All we know is that he 
is
going to cut back a whole bunch.

We would like to throw him a "Retirement Party" aka "Roast" while he is 
up
here teaching.  We are planning on the Saturday evening of December 4th.

We are going to try and keep this a surprise.  So please, if you run 
into
him before that time, "MUM" is the word!  We plan on getting together at
the Signature Inn (563-355-7575 for reservations) in Bettendorf where we
have a conference room reserved.  But we need to know just how many 
might
be showing up.  If you plan on coming, please call us or e-mail us as 
soon
as you get this.  Call 800-397-2278 or e-mail at wdcrft at revealed.net and
let us know you are thinking of coming.  If we end up with a massive 
crowd,
then we will have to go to "Plan B"!  When you call, make sure to leave
your phone number in case there is a change of plans.

If you have any pictures (non-returnable) you would want to share, 
please
send them ASAP to our store.  Please put on the back, or attach a note,
listing the date and location they were taken.  Also if you have any 
neat
stories or anecdotes about Harold you'd like to share, send them to the
store or e-mail them to wdcrft at revealed.net.  Don't send any pictures by
e-mail, we don't have any way of reproducing them.  Here is a chance to
honor a man who has given so much to woodcarving over the last 40+ 
years.
  See if you can make it to this fond farewell to one fine gentleman.
