[Woodcarver] re: help

i recently joined a wood shop where i live!! they have every tool you can think of,so i decided to try to cut my own blanks.I have tried tape,addhesive,make sure i put on at least 2 sides when one side is done i use masking tape and then do the front..... Buty no matter what i do it does not come out like blanks i buy.....i am using bass wood the top of the line band saw. Anybody got any suggestions that might help?
