[Woodcarver] RoundUp and other digressions

Dan,
I would not and cannot speak for Floyd, but having met him at Honesdale NEWR
and spoken with him several times privately and in instructor type
gatherings, I heard nothing of this issue from him or any of the other
instructors there. Remember that this would have been after the Michigan
event. My opinion <stress the word "opinion"> is that Cheryl is missing a
great opportunity to experiment with new class topics and such while
volunteering at the workshops. Maybe when, as an instructor, I reach
Cheryl's level I won't need or value the opportunity as much... I certainly
hope I still do. It's her loss if she bases her participation on the
comments of an extreme minority of the participants at the Roundup. My
feeling is that most of the participants have opinions along the lines of
what Maura just expressed.

Before I end my little "rant", I will admit that I don't rely on my income
as an instructor for any significant portion of my livelihood, so I probably
should give Cheryl <and "several others"> the benefit of the doubt in those
regards. That should qualify my opinion somewhat. At any rate Dan... I
don't think you're going to see a mass exodus of instructors from these
events. At the very least, you'll still have part-time amateurs like me
;-).

Keep on Carvin'
