[Woodcarver] When should a carving be retired from competion?

I don't know Maura, if i was entering and i had one competition judge it well 
i would like to see if it stands at another, i guess the same way when 
there's an award wining picture that is used for several years in books. when you 
got it flaunt it! but surely there are judges out there that are smart enough to 
know that when there is a new work just as good as the last one that has won 
many times he would give it the same recognition.
