[Woodcarver] Best in Show

Well, since i haven't been to carving shows, but I have with dogs, etc.  It 
seems to me if someone wins a best in show is a small local show, they 
should be able to go on to compete in bigger shows in larger more well 
known shows and try for BIS there.  Or there should be a special class or 
show for the BIS winners.  Where the best go up against each other.   It 
seems to me, the same policy that works in dog shows would work in Carving.   \

Small local shws are fun, but to make any points, etc, they have to win 
their points toward a champion in AKC sanctioned shows only, and AKC has 
strict rules for their shows.  A person can win best of breed or their 
class to win points toward championship.   Some of those points have to be 
won against a certain number of dogs in that breed , called winning a 
major, and workto 15 total for championship.   The best of breed in each 
breed goes on to best in group.  All toys, for eg.   Then the best of each 
group goes up for BIS.
It is a work up deal.  This goes on show to show. Different judges, and how 
the dog is showing that day may win or loose.   The Championship, however 
cannot be won under the same judge all the time.  There has to be different 
judges, I forget how many.  The dog can be 2years old or 10. They can start 
at any age.

I think a BIS winner class would be great, where the best go against the best.
That could even go further, the BIS's in a district winner could then go on 
to a BIS winner nation wide.  That way it could be kept showing, but not 
against the newer ones coming up.  I believe others should have a chance to 
challenge the best, and this way they could.  Kind of like boxing.
