[Woodcarver] FINISH FOR WHITE PINE

Chris:

My all-time favorite is a base-coat of Sanding sealer which is rubbed
with abrasive pad when dry, and a top-coat of hardwood paste wax. This
is a gentle, soft finish that compliments all types of wood.
Avoid the HARD finishes like varethane, urethane and lacquer. If the
carving is dented, these finishes will "pop" back up and leave a white
mark on the surface.

Hope this helps,

Bill
