sally , working with such small work must be sooooo tedious. i have done 
some netsukes, and for the finishing used magnifying glass.  it takes ages, 
and then the magnifying glass gave me a headache. one would have to get a 
special set of magnifying glasses at the right distance from the work so 
that you would not suffer, neckaches, headaches and all the other headaches 
you can think of.
so my best wishes go to those masters who could do such excellent work and 
such patience.
