how true. fascinating world . even leonardo da vinci was into sooooo many
interesting things and knew so much, yet he was also accused of having
secrets and being somewhat of an 'alchemist'. even now he is being talked
about, with the recent book on the da vinci code.... but as far as i am
concerned he knew a lot and wow was he a great master, a genius, and i guess
when people cannot understand something or put logic into it that they can
understand, or science or something, they then feel they have to label
people as either mad, or being something monstrous. many times i think
people want to do and say these things because they will not admit that they
do not know the answer and they want to put people down. yet no one can know
everything all the time, we all learn of each other, and from each other we
share our knowledge and inspiration and know how to grow.
perhaps we are better off not judging instead why not concentrate on doing,
it is sooo much more interesting to do things and share with people, as it
then it becomes an important task because we use reason and emotion.
we are constantly learning from past masters, geniuses and present masters,
and perhaps in our little way, as carvers we are participating in something
that is real and important. i often think of myself as a grain of sand, and
was surprised one day, when i said this to a friend. and she said to me,
have you ever seen a grain of sand under the microscope? i said no. She
said, have a look... it is full of life.
microscopes or magnifying glass, the important thing is we are doing
something that is important, we are committed to what we are doing, we love
it, other people like it so they seem to be happy or enjoy watching what we
do.
ivan, thanks for your wonderful pearls of wisdom and keeping us on our toes.
cheers
maricha
