[Woodcarver] one eye carving

Got a question. In July I had cataract surgery. The right eye was successful, but the left eye required three more surgeries in the hospital and now I am legally blind in the left eye. Also the three surgeries caused two heart attacks. Recently they put a couple of stents in one side of the heart and when it recovers enough they plan on putting three more stents in the other side of the heart. The problem is that while waiting I have started to try to carve and find that it is pretty difficult with only one eye. You loose depth perception. I was wondering if any of you carve with one eye and how you overcame this problem.
