New to the list (thanks to Ol' Don Burgdorf pointing me this way).
What is a good way to add depth and aging look to a piece once it has been painted?
My current process is:
sand
give it a boiled linseed bath
paint (thinned acrylic paints)
wax (Briwax: 2 parts natural - 1 part dark)
The wax is good, but still not the effect I'm looking for (plus, the wax will smear any paint that is on top of another color - like when painting eyes). I think I need to spray with a matte finish after the painting to solve this??
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
