Dick,

I hear this refrain all too often. The kids do this, the kids do that.......
When I was a boy 40 years ago, there were kids who caused trouble, a very
small percentage of the kids caused 99% of the trouble. Half the things our
parents blamed "the kids" on, was done by kids in their 30's and 40's who
still had nor grown up. I just returned from Owasippe Scout Reservation with
28 kids in our troop in attendance. We did not have one single incident the
entire week. The vast majority of "the kids" are raised with the some morals
and ethics their parents have worked so hard to instill in them. My son was
at a graduation party this past Saturday night. I picked him up at 11:00PM,
and he told me that adults there had offered him beer, cigars and
cigarettes. Thankfully he refused them all because he knows right from
wrong. He also said that out of the 40 boys there, only two imbibed in any
of these vices.

There's bad seed in every generation. Let's give "the kids" the credit they
deserve.
