Bill -
I would take if from your response on the second bevel, you would not recommend the use of power sharpening to acquire this 10% secondary angle!

Hi:
Further to what Ivan has to say:
About this secondary bevel: I use the term "micro bevel" to describe the small bevel I place of the inside leading edge of a gouge or veiner (skews and chisels are handled differently) using a hard Arkansas slip-stone. The micro bevel can be seen with the naked eye but only under bright light.
Hope this helps,
Bill

Some carvers put a secondary bevel on their tools to strengthen the edge for hard wood. Others find it easier to hone the small secondary bevel rather than the whole beve
