Duane,
Ray was right about the museum in Victoria, but don't miss the museum  
in Vancouver.  The  University of British Columbia Museum, south west  
of Vancouver houses one of the largest first nation exhibits.  You  
need to spend a whole day there.  One interesting thing I recall was  
a carved stone dish that may have been pre-contact that looked  
exactly like a Swiss chip carved plate.  Fantastic work.
