[Woodcarver] copyright (Another question)

I believe you still have implied copyright. I sold some pieces to a shop
and they were going to make a mold without my consent and copy my work
before they sold the original. When I found out, I did some checking. They
can sell the original but, if they make copies, I can sue for any profits
they get from my piece plus lawyer's fees without any legalese documents or
signitures. Flat out, I (and my estate after I die) own the design for my
lifetime plus 50 years WITHOUT legal documents. After my death, they can
get a formal patents that extend the copyright with renewable options. One
lawyer said that some artists make as much money suing for lost income as
creating the originals.

A question to the list. If I sell a carving and want to retain my
copyrights to keep it from being copied. Do I need to have the buyer sign a
form concerning this, is this something a laywer needs to draw up or is
there a form I can find on the net?
Thanks Chris Howard
