Though I usually bite my tongue and avoid commenting on areas of opinion
about specific brands of tools (people might think I have an adz to grind),
I'd like to address one point of fact. Joe is right: Stubai tools are,
indeed,  tempered through their entire length.  Saw for myself as I both
visited the factory and carvers whose families had used the tools for
generations.  They were still going strong after a substantial portion of
the blade was ground away.  Hey! I've even got pictures!
