Hello Carving Friends,

Just a note to tell you about a number of great carving class
opportunities
here at The Woodcraft Shop coming up this fall/winter.

Oct. 1 and 2 - Mike Shipley, Dora, Missouri.

Mike has authored a number of books on caricature carving to include:
"Woodcarving the Country Bear and His Friends", "Handcarving Snowmen and
Santas" and "Whittling the Old Sea Captain". This is an ideal class
for a
beginner as well as an advanced carver who wants to tackle a variety of
really cute caricatures.

Oct. 8, 9 and 10 - Kirt Curtis, Marion, Iowa.

Kirt will be coming back to teach one of his great realistic
animals. The
project for this class will be the BIG HORN SHEEP. Kirt is one of
the most
sought after instructors on the teaching circuit due to his helpful
teaching style, knowledge of subject matter and jovial classroom
atmosphere.

Oct. 18, 19 and 20 - Helli Mayr, Mutters, Austria.

Here is a rare opportunity to sit with a European Master Carver and
learn
techniques that you will not learn anywhere else. Helli has been
teaching
in the States since 1997. He comes to Wisconsin to teach at 2 or 3
different locations each year. We were lucky to schedule him at our
place
even though we had to do so on a Tuesday through Thursday. The subject
matter, a figure of Jiminy Cricket, was determined by carvers from
Wisconsin who have hosted him for a number of years. He said that if
Jiminy wasn't especially exciting to the ones taking his class here,
he can
adapt to just about anything else from doing a classic face to
architectural carving. He's done it all! Don't miss this opportunity.

Dec. 6, 7 and 8 + Dec. 9, 10 and 11 - Vicki and Phil Bishop, Elk City,
Oklahoma.

The Bishops have taught from coast to coast across America. They
have over
40 different caricature subjects that can be done during their
class. You
are getting a real bargain with this class because you get two
teachers for
the price of one! Phil starts around the room on whatever project you
choose, then Vicki follows behind him correcting his mistakes! Just
kidding, of course. If caricatures are your liking, you'll like sitting
with the Bishops.

For more information and pricing on these classes, please give us a
call or
drop us a note off-list and we'll get back to you.

Thanks very much for your attention!
