The "shape" of the water in a waterfall is very much dependent upon the
surface it is tumbling over and, of course the wind conditions, thus no two
waterfalls shape the water in the same way. A rough
under-surface with break the water into turbulent streams. Over a smooth
surface the water can resemble a drape hanging from a rod, forming expanding
tubes. Unlike a drape, however, the tubes can separate from the mass.
