Just a note to say HI to everybody! I am new to the list. I took a duck
carving class several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I work
full-time plus and have a family and my time soon went to other things. I
kept wanting to get back into carving, but it was too easy to not get
started. Then at the end of September, I slipped and fell on my job (I
deliver packages) and broke my hip. I suddenly find myself with time on my
hands and I got going again. I am really enjoying myself, and it has kept me
from going stir crazy. I am not remembering all the things that I was taught
in that class and I am having to think a lot about my next step. I am
currently working on a mallard drake and I am trying to remember about
inserts.
I am far from good, but people at least recognize my carving as a
chickadee etc.
I am also trying some chip carving for the first time. Anybody got tips
for a shortcut to transferring designs to the wood?
Anyways, I am looking forward to learning something on the list and having
some contact with the world of carving again.
Thanks,
Jim
