Bill, and all my long time friends on this list......
Age and other excuses prevent me from telling you how long I have been
around on the list, but it is somewhere in '97 if I recall correctly. I
was in on the first cane exchange, the santa cane exchange than never
finished, and was an early enthusiast for the W3 exchange carving. I
recall talking about it on the list before Matt stuck his hand up and
volunteered to organize it!
I have been a member of several other lists, but they have either not
met my needs or been too abrasive to tolerate. Only this one has stayed
the course.
We have gone thru several different servers (as Bill has gone thru some
pain with each!!) and we have had carvers come and go over the years.
Several names, now gone, sparked fond memories, sad memories and happy
memories. We had quietly supported each other with prayers, thoughts,
and wishes as some of us suffered losses of family, spouses, and
whatever else was brought to our attention. It has been a long ten
years, with lots of words about carvings and other subjects gone by.....
I wouldn't trade a minute of the time for it to be any other way.....
To all my friends, met and not-yet-met, all my fellow carvers, all my
fellow punsters and jokesters, carving instructors and beginners, I wish
you and yours a wonderful, warm and blessed Christmas season if that is
what you celebrate, or the same for your holiday season, whichever it
may be!
All the best to each of you and yours! And to another 10 years!
