THe reason asked if some people feel that master carvers will bet others out, which is what I have heard about the woodcraft contest for santa's and some times I can see it others I can not see it happening.

With regard to Bill's question as to "will there be levels of carvers in the (Carvin' Jack) contest" - there will be just one occurrence of this contest with a max of 8 participants. Carvers of any skill level may enter the contest. We will be soliciting carvers at the roundup to participate, if needed we will draw names from a hat to determine which 8 participate.

Question for u will there be levels of carvers in the contest or what.

Hi
We have added a Carvin' Jack contest to the Suwanee River Woodcarvers Roundup agenda.
This is a timed carving contest using only the Carvin' Jack pocket tool and a 2x2x6 inch basswood block. The participants will be given the block of Basswood, a pencil and a chair to sit on and 2 1/2 hours to carve whatever they want to using only the "Carvin' Jack" pocket tool. Winner will get to keep the tool.
See our web site http://www.geocities.com/podea_2000/ for further contest details and the overall Roundup program agenda.
