[Woodcarver] a fun & worthy carving project...

Hello all,

In case you missed this article, I'm sending this to inform you of a 
fun and worthy "worldwide" carving project.  It was written in Chip 
Chats Nov/Dec 2205 (pages 20-21).  Please pass this along to your 
carving club and friends.



WHO:
In celebration of their 15th Anniversary, the Austrian Woodcarving 
School Geisler-Moroder has invited all carvers to participate in this 
worldwide project.  The theme?  "Noah's Ark."  They encourage all 
carvers to send a small self-carved animal from all parts of the world. 
  They would like many animals.

ANIMAL SIZE:
Using a horse as an example for a base size, it should be about 4 x 3 x 
2.5 inches.  Accordingly, an elephant would be larger: a bird smaller.  
Don't worry too much about size.  They will find a proper place for it.

KEPT NATURAL:
The animals should not be finished...NO painting or staining.  Nice, 
huh!!!  They will properly prepare them for display to withstand the 
weather conditions for their region.

ARK:
Geisler-Moroder will build the Ark proportionately to house the number 
of entries they receive.

PARTICIPANTS:
Participants who submit a self-carved animal will be mentioned by name 
next to the project.  This can be any carver.  The skill can be novice 
to advanced.  All of you qualify. (smiling)

UPDATES:
Progress reports will be posted in Chip Chats.  It might be in the 
usual Martin Geisler-Moroder article or under separate post.  But DO 
look for project updates in Chip Chats.

PURPOSE:
This is what makes this so-o-o special!!!  Everyone who visit's the Ark 
is asked to make a financial contribution to the organization of the 
SOS Children's Villages worldwide.  
http://www.sos-childrensvillages.org  All monies raised will go to that 
charity.  It is for the children's orphanages.  That is why 
Geisler-Moroder chose the Noah's Ark theme...meaning protection and 
safety...the same for the children as the creatures on Noah's Ark.

DEADLINE???
Geisler-Moroder would like to make a big presentation in the fall of 
2006 HOWEVER, this project will be on on-going project.  Also, you are 
free to submit as many animals as you desire.

Alabama.  Upon receiving a quantity he will either ship or carry them

WHY ME?
I was fortunate enough to visit the Austrian School of Woodcarving 
Geisler-Moroder during one of my research trips.  I was taken by their 
genuine friendliness and humility.  I was also taken by this project to 
help the orphans of the world.  My campaign is for that purpose alone.  
I am not affiliated other than that.
