> Hello all,

>

> In case you missed this article, I'm sending this to inform you of a fun

> and worthy "worldwide" carving project. It was written in Chip Chats

> Nov/Dec 2205 (pages 20-21). Please pass this along to your carving club

> and friends.

>

>

>

> WHO:

> In celebration of their 15th Anniversary, the Austrian Woodcarving School

> Geisler-Moroder has invited all carvers to participate in this worldwide

> project. The theme? "Noah's Ark." They encourage all carvers to send a

> small self-carved animal from all parts of the world. They would like many

> animals.

>

> ANIMAL SIZE:

> Using a horse as an example for a base size, it should be about 4 x 3 x

> 2.5 inches. Accordingly, an elephant would be larger: a bird smaller.

> Don't worry too much about size. They will find a proper place for it.

>

> KEPT NATURAL:

> The animals should not be finished...NO painting or staining. Nice,

> huh!!! They will properly prepare them for display to withstand the

> weather conditions for their region.

>

> ARK:

> Geisler-Moroder will build the Ark proportionately to house the number of

> entries they receive.

>

> PARTICIPANTS:

> Participants who submit a self-carved animal will be mentioned by name

> next to the project. This can be any carver. The skill can be novice to

> advanced. All of you qualify. (smiling)

>

> UPDATES:

> Progress reports will be posted in Chip Chats. It might be in the usual

> Martin Geisler-Moroder article or under separate post. But DO look for

> project updates in Chip Chats.

>

> PURPOSE:

> This is what makes this so-o-o special!!! Everyone who visit's the Ark is

> asked to make a financial contribution to the organization of the SOS

> Children's Villages worldwide. http://www.sos-childrensvillages.org All

> monies raised will go to that charity. It is for the children's

> orphanages. That is why Geisler-Moroder chose the Noah's Ark

> theme...meaning protection and safety...the same for the children as the

> creatures on Noah's Ark.

>

> DEADLINE???

> Geisler-Moroder would like to make a big presentation in the fall of 2006

> HOWEVER, this project will be on on-going project. Also, you are free to

> submit as many animals as you desire.
