The Kalamazoo Valley Woodcarvers Guild is actually growing and last Saturday
and Sunday we had Linda Sales give a two-day wood burning class. There were
15 people present for that.

I have started a class at our church and if everyone was there at one time
there would be 20 people so the interest is still there.

I haven't been to any shows so I don't know how they are doing. I don't
know what is going on with the rest of the clubs.

Where has all the traffic on the carving lists gone. There was a time when
i could'nt keep up with all the posts, now nothing. What gives. Newr
seemed to also have a lot less in attendance this year. The two local shows
I attended were also much smaller. Is there something going on, something
in the water? killing the carvers off?? I can't blame it on the season as I
have noticed this trend for a while now. my carving group is holding steady
and actually reclaiming some of its old members. So whats up....any
thoughts. How is carving in your part of the world, dying or thriving.
Exactly what is the state of woodcarving in america today ???
