Sorry to hear about Chris's passing. Sounds like he was a devoted carver
and instructor. What a sad loss for the woodcarving world. My best wishes go
out to his friends and family.

I personally am dealing with the imminent passing of one of my own mentors.
Charles Post, Professional carpenter and woodcarver for 50+ years. Founder
of the Staten island woodcarvers and 1st carving instructor for the New York
city parks dept. He was very passionate and as he is in the end processes of
dying, he has made it clear how he wishes his legacy to continue. I have
had the sad yet fortunate privilege to be given the mans workshop and personal
toolbox and have now taken over for him as the woodcarving instructor for the
parks dept. The first times I went into his workshop alone, I cried knowing
he would never make it back out to his shop. He is suffering now and I am
hoping and dreading that he doesn't last another week. It is a heart wrenching
thing to hear him plead with me to be put out of his misery. I know that
there is nothing that anyone can do for him at this point but am just asking
that perhaps you say a prayer or keep a good thought that he will find peace
soon. Thanks.
