Pat... not enough information.
If this is an oil furnace the furnace's combustion air, partly, comes from
the room air. Also the
flames are not completely shielded. This gives you 'wood' dusty air which
would either clog-up the
combustion ports or give you a rich mixture that may be ripe for an
explosion.
If this is a gas furnace the pilot light & the burning gases are somewhat
exposed to combustion
with wood dust. The warm air blower has a motor also.
Remember now that I have never heard of a power wood carving system that was
100% dust free.
(I also was in the National Fire Protection Association & wouldn't approve
either of the above)
