[Woodcarver] ;Help with gouge

Flex cut mallet gouges are good quality, but the test of this tool is
whether you like using them.
They are too flexible for me... that is, too much energy from the
mallet is lost in the flex of the tool.
Keep in mind, though, that I work is hard woods like maple, beech,
birch, oak and the like. Woods like basswood and butternut would not
present the same resistance to the tool.
