All I can do is to confirm the sentiments express by Tom.

I'm new to the group and carving. I have had help any time I've asked
for it from group members..
Glad the group is here for people like me.

Dennis,

I am (comparatively) new to the list also. I too am a Wannabe
carver. I've listened to other people make the same point you have.

Now, the answer is that if you want help, ASK FOR IT !!!

The people here are and have been willing, even eager to help.
They simply can't read your mind and know what help you need where.
Personally, I've concluded that I need to pick up a class or two for
beginners. I don't seem to be able to learn on my own, and no, I won't
show the messes I've made <G>. There are others who either HAVE gotten
the classes already or are able to putz along on their own. There are
even people who are fairly talented. All of them need to ASK !

Tom (nj) ;--)

I'm new to the list and I sure understand the guy's dribble comment.
I'm
looking for good input and information on carving....I'm kinda new at
it...and I'm really debating if this is the best thing for me. I get
About
10 to 15 e-mails a day from woodcarving and so far in my limited
experience
80% plus of them have been a combination of chat about some computer
thing
someone needs help with, please make a donation and this type of
dribble
talk.

Don't mean to be overly critical, but if you wanna recruit new folks
to your
list, take it from me, a new guy I don't see much that makes me wanna
stay.
Looks great if you're one of the good ole boys or girls who knows
everybody,
buy don't do much for us new ones.

Dennis a guy with nothing to sell ya or with a web site...just like
carving.
