[Woodcarver] Placing tools on the bench

About laying out tools...

What Ivan says is good. I would add to it two things:
1. Lay the tools on a thick cloth so they don't roll around.
2. Be extra careful reaching for the tools. MOST cuts are cause when  
reaching for the tools, especially when the cutting edges are facing  
you.
