Taking this subject to a new level.  Recently I saw a carving on e-bay by a carver who passed away in 1950. Later I found an almost similar carving pattern in a popular carving book.  I used this pattern, changing the hat and clothing etc to simulate the original.  Was this a violation of any copyright?  Rip
