[Woodcarver] Carving letters in oak boards

Templates for any size letters can be made and are very handy if you can use
the same letters more than once. Larger size letters would probably be
easier with a router using the template and guide bushings. It depends to a
degree on whether you are trying to match the existing signs or if you are
using an original design.

Rotozip is similar to a router, as are laminate trimmers just not as
powerful. Due to the power and weight of a router, it can be rather hard to
control. whichever machine you decide to use, you will need to practice
till you are able to have good control. The better you are, the better the
free handing will be. There are templates available for lettering also.
