Gentle Carvers:
I've got to admit it, and I expect to have a lot of company in this
admission... I did no carving all summer. Once my June Relief Carving
workshop was over, Deb and I headed to the lake where we spent the
better part of 9 weeks enjoying the lake and the outdoors. There I
built decks, shingled a roof and puttered at various tasks throughout
the summer. We also had a lot of guests.
But fall is here, and my carving classes have resumed, and I am really
enjoying being back in the shop. My carvers are keen to take on new
projects and to visit with their classmates. Some of the new projects
are quite innovative, I must say.
As for me, I am continuing my "Stations of the Cross" project. Right
now I am near the end of station 3, with only eleven left to go. Each
station is unique, drawn from photos I have taken of live subjects, so
this project will not be an adaptation of someone else's work. I can't
wait to show you all the finished series.
