I like to use wax over tung oil. After applying the tung oil, you can
then wax and buff the carving. This gives you the depth of the tung
oil with the luster of the wax. The wax also has a wonderful tactile
feels.

If you have not waxed carvings before, I would suggest trying it on a
test piece first. In my experience, different waxes have different
windows of time that are best for buffing after the wax is applied.
You also want to be sure you have a stiff bristled brush to buff the
wa in the corners and crevices.

I can't seem to get a luster or shine on it. After the last coat I hand buffed it and still no deep luster or shine. This is the 1st time i've used tung oil. What am i doing wrong or am I expecting to much.
