Barney, no problem. What makes the world go 'round is that we all
like different things.
There are several reasons that I CHOOSE to use Firefox. The main one
being the lack of security loopholes inherent in IE (and my own
admitted dislike for Microsoft software). It's the same reason I
wouldn't use Outlook Express for email. They are just way too prone
to attack for me. As others have mentioned, since Microsoft software
is the most common....because you can't buy a PC without it...it is
most prone to hackers. It could very well be that 80% of users use
IE for that same reason. It's right there on the computer you buy,
and many people are not aware that other browsers even exist. Others
simply don't want to learn a new program.
My aim is not to try to induce you to make any changes. I responded
to a question with my opinion. If you are happy with what you are
using, then, by all means, stick with it.
There are many sites that do in-depth comparisons of all the big
browsers...makes for some interesting reading :)
By the way, that web site, www.w3schools.com is the bible of web
designers, Their lessons on design are sound, accurate and most of
us who do design web pages know it VERY well.
Enjoy. whichever browser you choose :)
