[Woodcarver] Got a question for y'all ...

Hey there everyone,
This is an odd question, but it is carving related because it has to do with the
International Woodcarvers Congress.
We are moving into the brand new $26 million dollar Waterfront Convention Center
in downtown Bettendorf, Iowa. That's the good news. The bad news is that our
seminars are going to be held in an area that is carpeted with very expensive
commercial grade carpeting. We have thought of different things to use to cover
the carpet ... plastic sheeting / too slippery ... canvas material / too
expensive ... masonite sheets / again too expensive, etc. etc.
Then we had a suggestion of using a product that landscapers use. It's called
"underlayment fabric for under rip rap".
We have a sample of the item and it looks and feels like a cheap grade of
indoor/outdoor carpet.
Now the question ... is there anyone out in woodcarving land who might have a
connection to a landscaping firm that might be able to supply us with such a
product. I understand it comes in rolls up to 16' wide. We would need about
260' of the 16' material. It would be nice to find a place in the Midwest that
wouldn't be excessively far from the Quad-Cities area if it would have to be
picked up. Being that the Affiliated Wood Carvers Ltd. (sponsors of the
Congress) is a non-profit organization that runs on a very tight budget, we're
in "begging mode". :o) In other words, the cheaper the better. LOL!
Thanks for your time. If you do come up with something, please send it to me
direct so we don't clog up these chat sites. Even though it's carving related
(somewhat), it's not a typical carving question that wouldn't benefit a whole
bunch of folks unless you would be putting "rip rap" in your yard.
