[Woodcarver] Got a question for y'all ...

Hi Larry-

I'm gonna answer here in case other clubs have similar questions. I have had 2 very recent experiences with carpeting and carvers.
The first was on the carving cruise where they had a short nap commercial carpeting down in the meeting/carving rooms. After the first day of seeing the mess we made they came in and covered the whole thing with plastic sheeting that was like heavy-duty Saran wrap. The seams were taped with duct tape and it kept well for the whole week of walking and chair moving. It wasn't slippery at all because your shoes went down into the nap of the carpeting.
The second was at our new location for the TWG seminars in Kerrville, TX, a new convention center too. They had a similar type of carpeting and told us to do whatever we wanted and they would clean it up afterward. They put plastic down in a few areas where it was especially dirty- bark carving; or where there was a lot of painting and there was a possibility of spilling paint.
Most commercial grade carpets in places like convention centers are made to be cleaned up with a good vacuuming.
