I lurk on this list because I learn with every note I read. The past few
days with discussion of tool making, economics and sales has been especially
interesting.
I'm sorry several people feel overwhelmed by the volume of traffic and have
asked to be dropped, but (speaking only for myself) please continue with
teaching, discussing and joking with each other. Perhaps in time I'll become a
good enough carver to contribute to the discussion.

Thanks,

Wayne Olsen

Hi Wayne, you are "good enough" to start contributing now and I am glad you
are getting something from our banter. I urge you to jump in now and then. I
started "bothering these fine people from the first day I joined the list. It
is the beginners who actually ask the questions that spark the most
interest. Sometimes the more experienced of us forget the basics that need to be
learned, things that we do automatically and no longer think about. I started
out 7 years ago and I can not tell you the amount of knowledge that I now
possess and it is primarily due to what I learned on this list and others. It is
also wonderful to have made so many great friends, some who I have even met
in person and spoken to by phone. Someone once referred to my computer
carving friends as "my imaginary friends" but I can assure you, everyone is very
real and on top of that, the friends I have made through woodcarving are just
the best bunch of people I have ever met. We can always use another friend,
so consider yourself one of the family and jump right in.
