I use both acrylics and oils. I prefer oils but requires more mixing etc.
but I use acrylics more. Just depends on the mood. I use BLO after on
acrylics and before of course on oils. Sealed with couple light coats of
satin lacquer.
Sharpening... I haven't figure out the fine art of sharpening. Most knives
come good and sharp. Other tools and gouges unless they are a Denny or
Drake, I send them to Rick Ferry for a good sharpening, then I keep them
sharp with my Ultimate Sharpener from Chipping Away and my Floppy Wheel and
Compound I got from Big Dog. Works for me.
