You must know that I do things in a very deliberate fashion.  I have been thinking about the penguin for the NEWR.  Pondering is a very difficult and time-consuming activity that I engage in way too often.  Then I will begin the design phase and next  create the first carving.  Oh, it is so difficult!!!!!!  (At least that Is what I tell people-grinning from ear to ear)
Seriously Maura, I think you would really enjoy being an instructor at the Woodcarver's Retreat in Rhode Island.  There is a website that you could check to get some info on it Or I would be glad to put you in touch with Ray Johnson or Jim O'Dea, the two leaders of the program.  Also I don't recall anyone teaching the classic relief style of carving that you do.
