[Woodcarver] What is a Carving Club's Purpose?

I believe the primary mission of any carving club should be to promote
woodcarving.   To me, everything else is secondary.  This is done through
classes, shows, speakers, etc.

Open question to all

There were several responses to my previous question of "What makes a
Carving Club more then a Social Group?".  One item mentioned often is that a
Club should have a Purpose or Mission Statement which is a focus for the
membership.  My followup question is "what are some Purposes for a Carving
Club?"  
Please mention as many as possible but also state the Purpose of your own
club so we can get an idea of the one most common.
