I know a person that uses dish soap to form a slurry to put on his strop.  Tryed it and it works good.  I think I like it better than using vasoline

Hi Doug, This sounds like the mad scientist way! hehehehehe    BUT, if you would go to a lapidary store, you can buy Titanium Oxide by the pound. It is use the polish rocks, mainly in a tumbler. I have a 1 pound can of it, and that is a lot.. I wonder what can be used for a harder binder than Vaseline? Maybe  a saturated mix of bees wax? mmm that will something to try. Or mix with 'Durham's rock hard putty'  There is some other stuff in the lapidary field that is a little coarser to give a try. Something to play around with after my up coming show.
Richard,
