[Woodcarver] Ol' Don and Sandie, Home again

Mornin' all,

Whew!... We're home. Arrived in Nashville from Los Angeles at almost
midnight Wednesday night. Had a 8AM appointment with my doc Thursday
morning (will explain that in a minute), drove home and spent yesterday
unpacking, doing laundry and just plain collapsing/relaxing. Now I've
got over 2,000 photos (as you know, Sandie and I love to take photos ;o)
) to sift through and post something either on my web site or
PictureTrail. Not sure when I'll get to it because it seems a lot of
things have backed up while we were traveling and, of course, more
medical followups on the schedule. We're back to the status quo.

We had beautiful (though often, hot) weather for the whole cruise-- From
Ft. Lauderdale to VeraCruz, Mexico, April 25th. On to Dos Bocas
(Paraiso), Mexico on the 26th; Progreso (Merida), Yucatan the 27th then
had a couple "days at sea" on the 28th and 29th. The 30th we were in
Cartagena, Columbia.

May 1st we entered the Panama Canal and headed for the Pacific ocean.
May 2nd we cruised Golfo Dulce and May 3rd, spent the day at Puerto
Caldera, Costa Rica. May 4th we were in Corinto, Nicaragua followed by a
day in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala on the 5th. May 6th was another "day at
sea" as we made our way to Acapulco, Mexico for the 7th. May 8th was
another day at sea. On May 9th we were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. May
10th we cruised all day and arrived in Los Angeles on the morning of the
11th, caught the flight home (via Atlanta) and landed in Nashville at
almost midnight as I mentioned above.

It was an enjoyable and informative 3 weeks and I'll mention details
from our various stops when I post the pictures. The only downside for
the trip was that Sandie came down with bronchitis about a week ago and
my appointment with my doc was made because the situation with my
nerves/hips/legs got a lot worse during all the walking tours At home I
can sit for a while when that problem surfaces (which is any time I
stand or walk for an extended period) but on the cruise tours that
usually wasn't an option. Of course dealing with the respiratory
situation was an ongoing concern as well but life goes on. On the plus
side we pre-registered for a 30 day cruise to Hawaii, Tahiti and other
South Sea Islands as our next future destination with Holland America.
The good times roll on ;o) !

More later...
