> A new Novice Category has been added last year for "Instructor Assisted" Carvings.

> Free Youth competition is limited to those who have not yet reached their 17th birthday. Each youth can enter one item, there are no categories, it must be completed by the youth, (no assistance from instructors).

> COMPETITION DISPLAY of entries and ribbons on the winners will be displayed between 10:00 a.m. and Noon on Saturday.

> Raffle Tickets available for a special Tilt-Top Table with the top being a quilt of a variety of wood patches of chip carvings and relief carvings and woodburnings by members of The Lancaster County WoodCarvers. The raffle drawings will be on Sunday, March ??th at 3:00 p.m. All proceeds from the raffles will benefit “SOARS, Supporting Our American Recruits,” a charity for soldiers (see their website: http://www.supportouramericanrecruits.com/4436.html.)

> The John Herrington Award of 2013 will be announced at the Festival on Saturday afternoon. This is a recognition given by the Lancaster County WoodCarvers to a member for the outstanding contributions to our club and the world of carving. The last Harrington Award was given in 2010 to Andrew DiPace of Lancaster, PA. [Club nominates anyone by October Meeting and then Award Committee selects three nominees and get bios from these three and publishes and then Club votes at December meeting. Awards ordered in January.]
